* 99% of popcorn retailers and movie theatres flavor their popcorn with artificial ingredients and colors and use cheaper unhealthy cooking oils. We do not!
* We use no artificial coloring such as Red Dye#40 or Yellow Dye#5 as others do.
* Our Popcorn has no artificial sweeteners.
* Our Popcorn has no artificial flavors or flavor enhancers, such as MSG.
* Our kernels are non-GMO and the highest quality available anywhere. Grown by American farmers.
* Our popcorn is naturally gluten-free.
* We use only 100% pure corn oil, we do not use palm-oil or other bad oils that most theatres, retailers and bagged popcorn has.
History
Doc Popcorn was established in 2003 with a commitment to freshly popped flavors and natural ingredients. Our franchise was established in 2013 and carries on that unique tradition, with recipes and natural ingredients not offered by other popcorn stores or grocery products in the DFW area.
Our Doc Popcorn stands at the Dallas Convention Center opened at all larger events in 2014, for the first time offering fresh natural Doc Popcorn to all local Dallas and out-of-town guests. We have served literally hundreds of thousands of happy customers, many of which continue to find Doc Popcorn to be a recurring highlight of their regular event attendance at DCC.
Doc Popcorn at the Dallas Farmers Market opened on 11 December 2015 to promote a new era of healthy and delicious snacking. Doc Popcorn was one of a handful of women-owned businesses to be chosen especially for The Market.
The Dallas Farmers Market has grown with the city and turned into a hub for farm-fresh vegetables, dairy and more. Today, it stands as a symbol of Dallas' commitment to the health and nutrition of the people who call this city home.

The Market at Dallas Farmers Market is the indoor 7-DAYS food & vendor market where you can grab a bite to eat from many vendors while taking in a view of the Dallas skyline or observing the market-goers.
Dallas Farmers Market was established by farmers in the late 19th century to sell fresh produce around the intersection of South Pearl Expressway and Cadiz Street. In 1939, the site was expanded and the first open shed was established. Skipping forward to the 2010’s, Dallas Farmers Market underwent massive renovation and refurbishment of the ‘sheds’ and all the surrounding area. ‘The Shed’ was established as the weekend open air market, which now includes space for entertainment, and no longer has a street running through the space. ‘The Market’ building which was enclosed a few years earlier, was also massively renovated to house a number of businesses designed to provide food, shopping, and entertainment 7-days a week to complement the new dedication to local farmers and healthy eating. In the 1990’s few people lived around the DFM area, but the renovation and new growth has allowed many thousand’s of people to enjoy living within just a few blocks of the Dallas Farmers Market.

Doc Popcorn at NorthPark Center started with an invitation to establish a Holiday Pop-up store in late 2022. After a successful Holiday period, the owners and management of NorthPark graciously offered Doc Popcorn the chance to stay as a permanent fixture of NorthPark Center. We hope to start a new tradition for NorthPark customers to enjoy our fresh natural popcorn recipes, just as our DFM, DCC, and catering customers have enjoyed for years.
Brand History
The Doc Popcorn company dates back to 2003 in Boulder Colorado, when founders Rob and Renee Israel dreamed of creating a wholesome, natural smile-inducing snack in a variety of mouth-watering flavors. DP began franchising in 2009 and was purchased in 2014 by Dippin’ Dots, LLC, the iconic beaded ice cream company, invented by Curt Jones in 1988.
In 2022, Doc Popcorn and Dippin’ Dots became part of J&J Snack Foods Corp., (NASDAQ: JJSF) a leader and innovator in beverages and snack foods. J&J features well-known brands such as ICEE, SuperPretzel, Slush Puppie, Minute Maid, Auntie Ann’s at Home, Sour Patch Kids, Barq’s, Parrot-Ice, and Luigi’s, plus many other great brands.
